KCI Computing
Launches 64-bit Version of CONTROL Corporate Performance
Management Software
Torrance, Calif. – January 6, 2006 –
KCI Computing, Inc. today announced that its powerful
corporate performance management (CPM) solution,
CONTROL, is now available as a 64-bit application.
CONTROL provides a one-stop solution offering
the real-time business insight needed to plan,
assess and drive corporate performance by leveraging
relational technology to unite critical financial
and operational data. By using the industry's
most advanced 64-bit architecture, CONTROL takes
a quantum leap forward in the areas of scalability
and performance.
The 64-bit version of CONTROL provides users
with the power to handle data-intensive applications
of even larger and greater complexity with tremendous
speed and precision. It also utilizes memory
space more efficiently, allowing those accessing
the product via a Web server or terminal server-type
configuration to support a larger number of
concurrent users with a single physical device.
This is particularly beneficial for large enterprise
scale deployments.
“For organizations to be successful with their
performance management initiative, there is
a need to proactively connect information from
a variety of sources to help link strategy and
tactics," said industry expert Craig Schiff,
President and CEO of BPM Partners, an advisory
services firm with an exclusive focus on performance
management solutions. “As more data is integrated,
the volume of information and the multi-dimensional
nature of effective analysis demands a robust
application that can handle complex data manipulations
without sacrificing data accuracy.”
The 64-bit version of CONTROL enables users
to dive deeper into large volumes of data down
to the most granular level, providing the visibility
and insight needed to better understand the
driving factors behind the numbers. The results
are improved financial and operational decision-making
across all financial management processes including
budgeting, planning, forecasting and analysis.
Users benefit from increased speed and precision,
without sacrificing the usability and functionality
that has set CONTROL apart as the corporate
performance management solution of choice for
companies of all sizes across a variety of industries.
The 64-bit version delivers the same end-user
experience as its predecessor, and can be used
simultaneously with the 32-bit version of CONTROL.
“As a company that has always exploited technology,
KCI continues to promote its philosophy of allowing
our customers to choose and benefit from the
latest computing available,” said Max Kay, CEO,
KCI Computing. “CONTROL has always stood apart
in its ability to solve complicated problems
and help users make sense of large amounts of
data quickly and with extreme precision. By
leveraging 64-bit architecture, our customers
now have the capability to take their performance
management to a whole new realm with virtually
no limitations.”
Utilizing 64-bit architecture also enables
KCI to create powerful new features and infrastructure
enhancements in anticipation of the increasing
need for more capable, richer and faster business
intelligence and forecasting. KCI plans to roll
out significant product upgrades that benefit
64-bit users in 2006.
The 64-bit version of CONTROL requires a 64-bit
operating system and associated 64-bit drivers.
The software application is compatible with
leading 64-bit CPUs provided by companies such
as Intel and AMD and found in many of today's
leading servers and desktop PCs.
